It cause many people to lose their homes and live in Hooverviles which where poorly made camp sites in or outside of the city housing the homeless. 
effects of the Great Depression were plentiful, as it cost millions of people their jobs, causing the economic recession to be even more severe causing inflation, making more dollars into circulation, causing the US dollar to have less value. later on the president Roosevelt proposed the New Deal, to get the economy back in order.
