There are 2 possibilities but we gonna solve it one after another
Lets start with possibility 1
7x + 4 = 18
7x = 18 - 4
7x = 14
x= 14/7
x= 2 
Now, lets solve for possibility 2
7x + 4 = -18
7x = -18 - 4
7x = -22
x= -22/7

Final answers : X = 2 or x = -22/7
