Kyle has 31 trading cards. He buys a pack with 11 more cards. To play a game, he shares his cards evenly among himself and 5 friends. How many cards does each person get?

=30 
We want to subtract 30 from 42 to see what we have left to divide 
42-30=12

What number can go into 6 and equal 12

So we want to add 3 + 5 to get are answer 
=8
